Three Health-friendly Bread Recipes – You Can Do at Home

If you want to bring something new to the table, then you can try baking bread. However, the bread is usually associated with health problems. So, if keeping yourself healthy is a big concern, you can give it a healthy twist and you can start with these recipes.

Healthy Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • Eight Tbsp. of butter (unsalted)
  • One tsp. of ground cinnamon
  • One cup of sugar (granulated)
  • One tsp. salt
  • Three bananas (ripe)
  • Two eggs (large size)
  • One tsp. baking powder
  • One tsp. milk
  • One tsp. baking soda
  • Two cups flour (all-purpose)

Procedure:

First off, prepare a size 9x5x3 loaf pan. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix the sugar, cream, and butter in a bowl until they are fluffy. While mixing, add the eggs. Do it one by one so you can mix them thoroughly.

Set the mixture aside and smash the bananas in a small bowl. You can use a fork or any tool suitable for the job. Add the cinnamon and milk in the same bowl and mix them together. Get another bowl, pour in the baking soda, flour, baking powder and salt, and mix them together.

Once the other mixtures are thoroughly mixed, everything together until the flour disappears. Pour the mixture into the loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour. Once cooked, set the bread aside to cool. Remove the bread from the pan, slice and serve.

No-Gluten Cheese Bread

Ingredients:

  • Two large eggs
  • One and a half cup of Parmesan cheese (finely grated)
  • One cup of milk
  • One tsp. salt
  • Half cup of cheddar (finely grated)
  • Two and a half cups of flour (tapioca)
  • Half cup of vegetable oil

Procedure:

Start by preheating the oven up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large pot over medium heat, mix the salt, milk, and oil. Once the mixture has reached boiling point, adjust the heat to low and add the flour.

Mix the ingredients using a wooden spoon. Continue mixing until the dough is formed. Once the dough is finished, turn off the heat and let it cool. While you’re at it, grate the cheese and put in a cup or small bowl. After cooling the dough, add the eggs and mix.

After mixing the eggs with the dough, add the grated cheese and continue mixing. Once thoroughly mixed, roll the chunks of dough into balls. And place on the baking pan (lined with parchment paper). Bake for 20-30 minutes. Let it cool before serving.

St. Patrick Day’s Soda Bread

Ingredients:

  • One tsp. baking soda
  • Two cups of buttermilk
  • Three and a half cups of flour (all-purpose)
  • One tsp. salt

Procedure:

Preheat the oven to 420 degrees Fahrenheit. Get a bowl and mix the baking soda, flour, and salt. See to it that the baking soda is distributed evenly. Pour in the buttermilk and mix until dough is formed. In case the mixture is dry, you can choose to add more buttermilk.

Knead the dough into a ball and roll it with flour to give it a dry surface. Set the dough into the oven and cut a cross into the top of the dough using a knife. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes. Once the bread is cooked, set it aside to cool and serve.
